Preliminary Industry LV SAAR Forecast: 2011

Preliminary Industry LV SAAR Forecast 13.4; previous month at 12.6. This assumes an industry volume of ~992K. Retail SAAR of 11.0 ~811K unit sales, 81.8% of the mix. Fleet SAAR of 2.4 with a Fleet mix 18.2%.

TMS sales of 141,846 were up 41.8% (dsr % change) vs. last Feb sales of 100,027. TMS car sales of 80,450 were up 35.9% and truck/SUV sales of 61,396 were up 50.4%. Preliminary share is estimated at 14.3%. Fleet is 13.8% of total sales, with 19,567 unit sales.

Honda sales of 98,059 were up 21.6% (dsr % change) vs. last Feb sales of 80,671. Honda car sales of 52,749 were up 8.7% and truck/SUV sales of 45,310 were up 41.0%. Preliminary share is estimated at 9.9%.

Nissan sales of 92,370 were up 31.6% (dsr % change) vs. last Feb sales of 70,189. Nissan car sales of 58,897 were up 19.6% and truck/SUV sales of 33,473 were up 59.7%. Preliminary share is estimated at 9.3%.

Mazda sales of 19,387 were up 13.7% (dsr % change) vs. last Feb sales of 17,054. Mazda car sales of 13,950 were up 26.6% and truck/SUV sales of 5,437 were down -9.8%. Preliminary share is estimated at 2.0%.

Subaru sales of 21,683 were up 19.8% (dsr % change) vs. last Feb sales of 18,098. Subaru car sales of 15,126 were up 30.3% and truck/SUV sales of 6,557 were up 1.0%. Preliminary share is estimated at 2.2%.

Hyundai sales of 43,533 were up 28.0% (dsr % change) vs. last Feb sales of 34,004. Hyundai car sales of 35,357 were up 55.4% and truck/SUV sales of 8,176 were down -27.4%. Preliminary share is estimated at 4.4%.

Kia sales of 32,806 were up 36.4% (dsr % change) vs. last Feb sales of 24,052. Kia car sales of 12,007 were down -3.5% and truck/SUV sales of 20,799 were up 79.2%. Preliminary share is estimated at 3.3%.

GM sales of 207,028 were up 46.4% (dsr % change) vs. last Feb sales of 141,438. GM car sales of 83,004 were up 29.8% and truck/SUV sales of 124,024 were up 60.1%. Preliminary share is estimated at 20.9%. Fleet is 21.2% of total sales, with 43,900 unit sales.

Ford sales of 156,626 were up 14.0% (dsr % change) vs. last Feb sales of 137,365. Ford car sales of 57,384 were up 7.8% and truck/SUV sales of 99,242 were up 18.0%. Preliminary share is estimated at 15.8%. Fleet is 34.8% of total sales, with 54,532 unit sales.

Chrysler sales of 95,102 were up 12.6% (dsr % change) vs. last Feb sales of 84,449. Chrysler car sales of 17,745 were down -33.1% and truck/SUV sales of 77,357 were up 33.5%. Preliminary share is estimated at 9.6%. Fleet is 32.9% of total sales, with 31,255 unit sales.
