Facebook Business Pages Lose 44% Reach

Unlike thumb - Strong Automotive

A post today from Ignite Social Media got my attention and I wanted to share it with you. I’ve never completely understood how Facebook can maintain their monstrous valuation, as it seems that they understand so little about ROI, business and often times seem to alienate their business partners. Facebook is always tinkering with their algorithm and how their system functions, another huge source of frustration for me, and whether intentional or not they have reduced the visibility of brand pages over the last couple of weeks. Previously Facebook claimed that a business could reach roughly 16% of their fans. Since December 1st that number plummeted to 3%! Like I said, it could have been an unintentional consequence, or it could be a move to make businesses pay more for exposure. Either way, it’s a serious misstep, especially considering the time of year. We are interested in your thoughts, and you can read the entire article here.
